Celebrate Mother’s Day with New Multi-Generational Family Portraits

Visit me at my NEW Lakewood Colorado photo studio for Mother’s Day pictures!

Spring is finally (almost) here! With Mother’s Day right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to look back at photos of mom, grandma, and all the strong women who have shaped our lives. It’s also the perfect excuse to get new family photos taken!

For Mother’s Day, multi-generational family portraits are a great way to capture the love of children, parents, grandparents, and great grandparents all in one picture. These portraits can end up being some of the most cherished heirlooms that get passed down for generations.

As a Lakewood Colorado family photographer, I get to take portraits of beautiful families all the time, but the magic of it never gets old. I know how much love and effort the families put into getting ready for pictures, and how much the end result means to them. The photo session may only last 20 minutes, but their portraits will last forever. That’s why I’m so passionate about getting the best pictures possible for my clients.

The Best Family Heirlooms

Candid home photos and selfies are great for capturing the day to day moments, but professional family photos are a meaningful way to commemorate special occasions, like Mother’s Day.

I’ve always loved the process of preparing for a photo session with my family. I do my hair and makeup and carefully choose my outfit, coordinating with my husband and son. These professional pictures give us an opportunity to put our best foot forward, to capture a moment in time that we’re proud to hang on our wall and pass on to future generations.

Most importantly, I want my son to have nice pictures of himself with his loved ones to look back on as he grows. Childhood memories are the foundation of a person’s life, and family is such a huge part of those memories. When my son is older and starting his own family, I know he’ll appreciate the formal pictures we took with his grandparents, and the pictures of me and him together looking our best.

Because I make a point to prioritize family portraits, my son will be able to look at pictures of himself with his Nana and remember his favorite meals that she made and the love they shared. He can show his children and tell them all about her, keeping her memory alive and passing it down like a family heirloom. That’s a priceless gift that I’m proud to give, and one that I hope my future grandchildren will cherish as well.

Now that digital photos are the norm, memories can last forever without the wear and tear we see in many old photos. We can print and reprint from the digital files as many times as we want, which can keep important family portraits looking great over the years.

It’s so special for me to look back at photos of my mom with her mother and grandmother, and I know how special that can be for other families too. This is why I love being able to make that magic happen.
