The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
Even though Santa would not be there.
The children were all snuggled in bed,
With visions of masked reindeer dancing in their heads.
Mamma sanitizing groceries, and me with a computer on my lap,
We were focused on making covid free gingersnaps….
I had the pleasure of photographing the Dimmick family recently at the beautiful Hildebrand Ranch Park in Littleton, Colorado. I absolutely love summer evening photo sessions!
The sun was bright, then clouds filled the sky, and then the sun peeked through again. We photographed in front of the barn, climbed and sat on some big boulders and then found the trees by the stream.
It was a joy to see the girls running around in the open space and the sweet moments with their grandparents and uncle and of course, mom and dad.

More on the location of our photo session. Hildebrand Ranch boasts a beautiful scenic view of the valley originally homesteaded by Frank and Elizabeth Hildebrand settled in Deer Creek in 1866 on 160 acres. In March 1973 Denver leased 750 acres from Chatfield and 67 for the Denver Botanic Gardens which included the ranch's original buildings and is now owned and operated by Jefferson County Open Space for the public to enjoy. Check the website for the hiking trails around that area. Lots of wildlife and beautiful sunsets in a pretty secluded location. A Jefferson County Open Space photography permit is required to photograph on the property.

These two sisters had some Superbowl spirit and the cutest smiles! Being a family and children photographer in Lakewood, Colorado, I just love places like Addenbrooke Park. The various backdrops provided by nature is my number one reason for taking clients there. Plus, it's pretty convenient for most people to get to. The large open spaces and paved walkway prove to wear the kids out just a little. There are large areas to move and run around in...and that's what kids do best. I take the long walking route around the park so we have lots of backdrops to chose from, and then the reward at the end is the big playground area. Usually, with surprises for my littlest clients like smarties candy and bubbles that are blown through the breeze and drift towards the Colorado mountains.
