Celebrate Mother’s Day with New Multi-Generational Family Portraits

For Mother’s Day, multi-generational family portraits are a great way to capture the love of children, parents, grandparents, and great grandparents all in one picture. These portraits can end up being some of the most cherished heirlooms that get passed down for generations.

Baby Hugo Newborn Session | KW Designs Photography | Lakewood Colorado

Mr. Hugo was quite awake, and then very asleep for his studio session at my Lakewood, Colorado space. I loved the personal touches mom brought for some of his photos and I got to try out some new studio props too!

Summer Family Portraits | Dimmick Family | KW Designs Photography

I had the pleasure of photographing the Dimmick family recently at the beautiful Hildebrand Ranch Park in Littleton, Colorado. I absolutely love summer evening photo sessions!

The sun was bright, then clouds filled the sky, and then the sun peeked through again. We photographed in front of the barn, climbed and sat on some big boulders and then found the trees by the stream.

It was a joy to see the girls running around in the open space and the sweet moments with their grandparents and uncle and of course, mom and dad.

Kids grow quick and the moments can be fleeting as time continues ticking. What’s that saying? “The days are long but the years are short”. Schedule your family photo session today, you won’t regret it! Email me to get on my summer schedule before the busy fall rolls around.

More on the location of our photo session. Hildebrand Ranch boasts a beautiful scenic view of the valley originally homesteaded by Frank and Elizabeth Hildebrand settled in Deer Creek in 1866 on 160 acres. In March 1973 Denver leased 750 acres from Chatfield and 67 for the Denver Botanic Gardens which included the ranch's original buildings and is now owned and operated by Jefferson County Open Space for the public to enjoy. Check the website for the hiking trails around that area. Lots of wildlife and beautiful sunsets in a pretty secluded location. A Jefferson County Open Space photography permit is required to photograph on the property.

Until next time, cheers ~

Getting Mom in the Picture | Mother’s Day Portraits | KW Designs Photography

When I looked back at the pictures that I had of the first few years of my son’s life, I rarely saw myself in them. Fact is, most moms are exhausted from juggling everything that needs to be done. This is not just a mental to-do list, it’s life in general. You’ve had to adjust to another full-time human in your life that demands more from you than a full-time job to survive.
